The Art of Hair Design
Hair design is about balance.

The ideal face shape is oval because this represents the feminine shape. A good hair cut will create this illusion. It also blends with your lifestyle, personality and what your hair will do realistically. That's hair design at it's best.
This particular image is a good representation of a square face shape. The lighter color in the fringe area lifts the eye and adds length. The soft feathery layers on the side softens the square sides and jaw. Beautifully done, don't you think?

Square face shapes need fullness on top to create the illusion of length. Softness, without fullness around chin is also good. Avoid square shapes in your hair cut.
Round face shapes can wear their hair straighter at sides to narrow the face shape and visually add length.
Triangular and heart shape faces are more narrow at the chin. Balance this shape with more fullness behind ears or around chin. Hair design, your specific hair cut can have different lengths depending on the time of year or your imagination. This balance is achieved with the cut and color.

Your life style is a consideration because you may not have time to use a curling iron, flat iron or even blow dry your hair. How much time do you want to put into your finished look. How often you shampoo, if you work out often, do you wear a hat or helmet? Tell me about yourself. Is your job corporate, do you have small children? All this we take into consideration.

Your hair is your most important accessory. If you were walking down the street, what three things would you want people to know about you? That your open, trustworthy, intelligent, fun? Your self image ideas can also be incorporated into the design of your haircut.
Your objective with hair color may be to cover gray, add a few highlights and dimension, add body or express yourself with brilliant color. The art and science of hair color consists of many factors. A consultation prior to each service is essential.

Organic hair color maintains the integrity of your hair chemistry. You can have what your looking for and have your hair in great condition. All quality hair color products will give you the end result your looking for from your hair color. The results are in the artists hands.

Have you ever sat in the stylists chair and have the stylist ask you "what do you want to do today?". You reply "hair cut and color." The stylists asks "what color do you want?".
At this point your hoping the stylist will give you some suggestions and guidance, you don't want to make all those decisions.

The color wheel is an artists greatest asset. Understanding tones, values, complimentary and contrasting colors is vital to success. Another question to ask is, what condition is your hair in. The protein, moisture content are very important and give your hair strength and elasticity.
What are the color of your eyes, your skin, lips and the natural pigment in your hair. What are the underlying tones in your hair color and how will that affect your hair color outcome. How will the finished results compliment your face shape, hair cut and what you want your hair to say about you. These questions are up to the professional to answer and discuss with you.

Now your renewed, confident and relaxed. Your image in the mirror reflects what you were hoping for.  Hair that is rich, vibrant, touchable and a hair color you love.

"There is something about the way Deb looks at me and sees the finished style. The color looks so natural, more natural than my real hair color." Donna Sunn, Boulder
